Can the German crpgers help???

Looking for a game that was supposed to be based on the German role-playing system that I'm about to mangle-Das Auge Schwarze. I have recently been trying to get Realms of Arkania "Blade of Destiny" to run on Windows XP. It's been a nightmare. Playing it has gotten me interested in that system again. I've read a few snippets about a game called Armalion.
There's a website at http://www.armalion.de but this looks like tabletop miniatures instead of a crpg. Does anyone know anything about this game?
I don't think that there will be another "Realms of Arkania" game. If not, maybe this game would take their place.

I know 3 games based on DSA (Das Schwarze Auge)
the first was "Die Schicksalsklinge" (Blade of Destiny)
2nd part was "Sternenschweif" and last "Schatten über Riva" (dont know the english names)

Armalion is a pure tabletop game, based on the background of DSA

The second and third part of the Realms of Arkania trilogy were called "Star Trail" and "Shadows over Riva". Armalion was supposed to be an RTS-RPG hybrid, set in the Arakania universe, but Armalion has died for reasons I'm not that familiar with. Iirc, Ikarion went bankrupt...
However, the project has not completely been abandoned - stripped of any Arkania references (including the rule set), it is now developed under the name of Sacred and is probably going to be an Action-RPG. The link leads to a german site, I don't know if there's an english version too. You could try an online translation tool and see if that works.

But... I so wish there would be a computer game once more set in the Arkania world and based on its rules, preferably an RPG. The roleplaying world is flooded with D&D, which I've never really liked to begin with, and honestly I'm getting a bit tired of it.

Armalion the crpg may be dead, but Armalion the tabletop (where the link leads to) is very alive
I never played it myself, but heard only good things about it

There even exist some fanpages: One for the old Armalion game (german), and onother one or two for Sacred.

At Ascraron there is a Forum about Sacred, also in german. Link:

Thanks!

Thanks for all the info. I, like Arhu, would love to see a crpg developed with the DSA ruleset. D&D has been done hundreds of times and I'm getting a little tired of it also. I'm playing and enjoying Blade of Destiny, although
it's non-combat areas are fairly weak. I don't remember much about Star Trail and Shadows over Riva. Were these as good, better than Blade? Blade
seems to have a ton of spells that are useless within the game. Does Star Trail or Shadows change the spell list? The names are really useless when trying to figure out what a spell does. Does Fulminictus, Aeolitus, Abvenenum, etc, mean anything in German or Latin? I'm curious. It sure doesn't mean anything to this dumb American I'm still having a good time with it though. I'm hoping that Star Trail or Riva allows the party to actually explore the countryside rather than moving along roads and paths. Another german game that I'd love to see a sequel to is Amberstar. I know they made Ambermoon in German and even an English version if you own an Amiga or emulator. This was another fine crpg system that could use another incarnation.

>>Does Fulminictus, Aeolitus, Abvenenum, etc, mean anything in German or Latin?<<

Yes, it's Latin . "Fulminictus" includes "fulmen" which means "lightning". "Aeolitus" is related to "aer" (= "air") and "Abvenenum" includes the prepositional "ab" (= "from", "after") plus "venire" (= "to come" or "to get somewhere").
