faeries ? ? ?

faeries are a very cool race but they have so many penalties

can anyone confirm...does a faerie always have lower HPs than for example an elf with the same stamina, even in higher levels?
the faster magic recovery doesn't help you in combat I assume.

and what's all the fuss about fearie ninjas? why are they so good ? ? ?

by the way I think the second most cool race are the dracons!
playing a human-dragon with acid breath is just fun

fearie ninjas

Fearie ninjas are the only race / profession that can use the Cane of Corpus which is (reportedly) THE most powerful weapon available in Wiz8.

The CoC is pretty awesome. If you don't get that weapon, the faerie ninja is mostly worthless. It's kind of a catch-22...if you want to use the CoC, you have to have a faerie ninja; if you want a faerie ninja, you pretty much have to hunt down the CoC.

i dunno; my FN usually finances the party with potion-mixing and PP's some things you can't buy, so i'd tend to disagree with this Otherwise Useless idea.

Without the CoC, there's no advantage to a faerie ninja over other races that are better suited to the class. Your points are valid for the ninja class in general, but would not force you into the faerie race like CoC.

Well, ok, maybe a little faster Mana recovery isn't all that big a deal.
Ok, so maybe a little extra Magic resistance isn't all that big a deal.
Yah, +2 AC isn't much, either, esp. when Stealth gets you 10.
But added together, and to the fact that the Vit is high enough to leave alone for most of the game, I'd say they've got plenty going for them. (that is, specifically, Faerie Ninjas)

My first party ran both a faerie bard and a faerie mage. Now, I wouldn't go around recommending a faerie bard for Wiz8, but it's still playable (especially as a female with a necklace of endurance). A faerie mage, on the other hand, does benefit from the better AC and mana regeneration. The mana regeneration bonus does include during combat. Never played a faerie ninja, and probably never will. I've heard great things about the CoC, and I also heard that the "unusual" starting equipment factor for faeries gives them a good weapon to start with. It all comes down to personal choice.... (And my ninja is a Rawulf!)

Heh! Most of the parties i finished in Wiz-7 had Rawulf Ninjas. Rawulf because they were the easiest to rotate classes with to max all skills, Ninja for the weightless AC of Ninjitsu. Stealth in W8 is better, once present, it gives AC no matter your current class.

I agree with Bilbo. Although the CoC is cool once you get it my Rawulf ninja was a freaking maniac with Martial Arts skill. He KO'd Nessie, Al-Sedexus et. al very early in the fight(s). I've been using this Ninja since BoCF. The Mook Ranger that I've used since BoCF is ridiculous too.
