what is the"wizfast utility"? ive never heard of it!!

ive decided to try playing 4 people instead of 6 this time because if i do get stuck then i can recruit more people.

i thought

lizordman fighter
fairie ninga (of course)
lord??? ( or samoria(?
but which spell caster should i use? bishop is good but takes long time getting all the spells?

there is a pisnonic npc i can use but i dont think there is a mage or alchamist npc is there?

thanks angie

It seems that Wiz8 has a delay in the monsters' portion of combat, probably to make their movements more realistic. The Wizfast utility allows you to adjust that delay, meaning the critters do their part of combat MUCH faster.

It's pretty small, so I can email it to you if you wish.

Answers here! Get your answers here! Can't tell one problem from another without an answer!

1) For the utility, send an email to dorsch6@comcast.net and I will reply back with Wizfast attached and some quick instructions. It changes nothing in the mechanics of combat- just the timing. No cheating here. Combats will look (and sound) less realistic, but those 20 bats will do their thing soooo much quicker...

2) We've had lots of debates about spellcasters, which you can check out if you would like, but here's my incredibly wise analysis: Your lord covers the divine book and your ninja covers the not-very-important alchemy book (although probably not very well since you'll be developing him/her to do combat and locks-n-traps). You have nobody covering the psionic book, nor the mage book. Of those, I'd call the mage book more valuable, particularly since you've already played a psionic. I'd vote for a mage, or a bishop (emphasizing wizardry and alchemy).

3) Completing an RPG is a very special joy. We've all been there, so you don't need to apologize. M&M6 was my virgin experience. You might find yourself digging into older games soon- at least that's how things went for me.

Actually, developing a Ninja's Alchemy skill, and your Gold as well, is not very hard. You can mix potions, sort of as freelance pharmacist, if you will, buying the lesser potions from merchants, and applying your knowledge to improve them and sell for a profit. There's a list:
S
P
O
I
L
E
R
S
P
A
C
E
Mixing for Profit
If you have Alchemy >14, you can mix Lt and Mod Heal to make Hv Heal. Alc>19; Mod Stam + Mod Heal = Pickmeup.
Alc>29; Lt Heal + Poi Redux = Cure Poi and
Stink Bomb + Boom Bomb = Acid Bomb
Alc>39; Hv Heal + CLC = Cure Disease
Alc>49; Cure Disease + Hv Heal = Renewal and
Flash Pwd + Sneeze Pwd = Pandemonium Pwd
Alc>94; Fire and Ice Bombs make Canned Elemental

Angie: Make your 4 members of the party: Fighter, ninja, bishop, and mage.
A healer and ailment curer like the bishop makes the gaem much easier. A Priest will do, but in small parties the Bishop will grow faster and his offensive spells are good!
The "mage" instead of the "lord". With so few members in your party, you need a "hit all monsters" character besides the bishop. The fighter and ninja will do fine in the front line alone.

And yes, Get the "Wizfast" file to speed up combat, it's no cheating at all!

I just want to say that you can not recruit more people. Max. 6 members of your party from begining and max. 2 recruited NPCs.
So if you begin with 4 people, you will be (still) able to recruit only 2 NPCs.

True. But you will get oodles of experience with a 4-6 member party.
I don't know if I'd want to recruit more than two RPCs anyway. Aside from a few races that you can't select for a generated character (Trynnie, Android, Rapax, etc.) RPCs generally have no advantage (in stats at least) over a decent generated character. Plus, most RPCs have several "no-go zones" where they won't follow you. There are only a few RPCs in Wiz8 that are really worth recruiting, in my humble opinion.

When will it end? First, you finish your first RPG, then you get the new job. What's next, winning the lottery?

Seriously, way to go! So, did you settle on your new Wiz8 party yet?

'Woolworths'?

Are you an Australian (we have many of those over here) or are there Woolies stores in other countries as well?

It'd sure be nice to have a fellow Aussie on this board.
