How to turn off weapon trails?

I'd like to start with my compliments to Jowood on the first rpg I actually like and plan to finish.

Anyway, I'm trying to find out where I can turn off the weapon trails, or sword-blur or whatever it's called, as they're a little annoying. Can anyone help? Thanks.

(Why start with Gothic II??? Finishing Gothic I first is HIGHLY recommended you know...)

No options in Gothic.INI for those weapon trails. Maybe some console command in Marvin-mode?

EDIT: By the way, those trails have never bothered me. They look cool.

as far as i know those are some of the most despised things in the gothic series, second only to the voice acting for english gothic2
but i think we are all stuck with them unless someone makes a mod to get rid of them (fat chance)
