Video Game News has reviewed Star Wars Galaxies. The article finds a number of faults but some long-term potential; there's no score but a rating of 'Worth Renting Or Loaning':
In trying to take an objective look at SW: Galaxies on thing always comes to mind: a work in progress. With a little more elbow grease and brain pounding, Galaxies could possibly end up being the awe inspiring MMORPG that we were promised initially. With the addition of vehicles, a more structured and diverse mission system, and a simpler faction joining process, this game could be a tad bit more palatable not only to hard core fans of online gaming but to newbies as well. To be honest, Galaxies was released prematurely, and simply wasn't ready for the majority of the gaming community. Even with that in mind, I'm not completely ready to give up on the game right now: it still has the potential to be entertaining. However, I really think that if you're planning on giving this title a try, wait a 6 more months or so. By then, you might find a whole different playing field for SW: Galaxies...one that actually worth the time and money.

Now that's the first time I've ever heard of a MMOG being considered for renting or loaning...
