Well you probably tried to join the thieves guild in Balmora, you could always try to find some guild thieves members in other cities where they don't know you yet, maybe there you will have more luck  |

There is no problem in killing thieves near Caldera Mines. First one is outside, and you can talk to him, but when you choose topic "Telvanni agents" he attacks you. Rest of them is inside a cave and attack you on sight. Anyway, nobody sees that, just make sure no crime is reported and your Bounty does not increase.
I did these quest as member of both F. and Th. Guilds, with no problems. However, careful with the next "code book" quest! I read there is a way to make it, when you are in both guilds, but you have to talk to somebody in Vivec. I haven't splved that yet.
As for joining, first I made a round in Balmora and talked to all people, joined all possible guilds, then started making quests. |
