Dragon Age: E3 Preview @ Gamespy

The first glimpse of BioWare's brand new 'Dragon Age' comes via Gamespy. Race over <a href="http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/dragon-age/514178p1.html" target="_blank">here</a> to check out their first look:<blockquote><em>"This is a spiritual successor to all or our recent games," said BioWare cofounder Greg Zeschuk. "This melds the fun of party interaction from Baldur's Gate, the community and multiplayer aspect of Neverwinter Nights and the tactical combat of Knights of the Old Republic. We wanted to take all of that and put it together in a new game that was our own."</em></blockquote>

Wow

Different campaigns for single and multi-player, both overhead and over the shoulder views. Mod tools, no load screen, and motion capture. Near BG length. Why do I get the feeling that this game isn't coming out any time soon

Because the article specifically mentions the game won't be out until sometime in 2005? I dunno... I'm not all that impressed at this early stage. I'll need to see more to get a better taste.

Ugh, the 'tactical' combat of KoTOR, eh? That's a shame, I hated KoTOR's combat.

That's just the PR spin, they had to mention BG, NWN, and KOTOR somewhere to get better recognition. I guess we'll see how combat turns out when the game is closer to release.
