Here is another question. I'm thinking of buying Audigy LIVE! sound card that supports EAX environmental audio. I wonder is it worth playing Infinity games (such as BG1, BG2, IWD, IWD2) using EAX effects? Has anyone tried it? Is it really so good and 3D? Does it add some atmosphere to games? I really value the "feeling" of game world, and I thought that it might be a good idea to run all my old games with new sound...
What do you think? |

I think the Infinity games have some of the best audio ever in an RPG. I don't remember the EAX support for BG too well but BG2 was excellent with my (then) Live card & EAX. Go for it. |

Just wanted to say that I got my Audigy Live card, and those games sound just great! Including BG1. Although, sometimes there are minor problems with sound "floating" where it should not For instance, sometimes it is funny to hear NPC talking beihind your back, when actually your character faces him. But besides these minor problems, everything is ok, and environmental sounds (birds, wind etc) are awesome! |

Hmmm. I remember playing the original BG in both EAX and regular sound and the only real difference I can remember was that their was a nice reverb effect in caves and somesuch when characters talked. _________________ "Tis better to burn in Hell than serve in Heaven!" |
