Nero Alternative

It appears that my newly acquired LG dvd 8x writer, isn't supported by nero. Are there any other programs out there that can just copy over mulitmedia files and has burn proof? When I try to use Nero, it doesn't give me any options for choosing a speed for my dvd writer. It list the drive as a image recorder virtual device. When I get the wizard, it only allows me to select CD and not DD_CD or DVD.

I'd suggest checking the documentation that came with your burner to find out what works best with it. Also, check the box it came in for any software, etc. Generally, it'll come with a burning program of some sort.

Jeez, after 5 or 6 posts on other tecnical message boards, noone still cant give me an alternative to sh*tty nero. Well, after an hour search with google I finally found something that will allow me to just copy and paste a file to dvd and that is NTI. It amazes me that noone is aware that theres other programs out there that can also copy and paste files to a media disc.

Nero is easily my favourite and as far as I know, supports LG's 8x DVDRW - the model I sell in my store ships with Nero Express.

I can think of plenty of others - B's Recorder, Sonic MyDVD, Roxio...but it's hard to recommend them because Nero is better and has wider drive support!

Odd that Nero 6 ultra doesnt recognize my oem LG 8x dvd while NTI, not widely known, works perfectly.

I had the 6 ultra version. The most up to date version avaliable. Why would there be an update for that? If there is one, I can't find it on there homepage.

Nero Burning ROM (the burning part - leaving aside all the other stuff that is supplied) kicked off at 6.0.0.1 and is currently at v6.3.0.3 so there are regular updates.
