Well i've tried to learn lock picking from Thorben but i dont get the Matteo / Gritta quest?
Also i just noticed that I don't get Constantino to teach me alchemy either?
What do i have to do to trigger these two options?

I just talked to Matteo and got the Gritta quest. I had gone to all the merchants first to ask/ talk and to Matteo's apprentice outside first, but he simlply asked to help him. I can't help with other part, I never asked C to teach yet. I'm still trying to get other skills up first.

Talk to Constantino again and ask what you have to do to become his apprentice. He should give you a list. Once everyone else agress he will take you on.

how do i "talk" to them. I've gone up and get the "talk window" and for both the only thing in the window is show me you wares and END...
Suggestions?

Maybe you allready talked with Mateo.. Go in the house where Thorbin is in front of it, go in and talk to Gritta

Usually don't lose those options until you become somebody's apprentice. As for Thorben, as long as you've gotten the 2 blessings and given him his gold, he should teach you lockpicking. Try Gritta, I always did her first, maybe that's how to get the option.

Ah well there in must lay the problem. I am Harad's apprentice already.
I went to all the guys and got their blessings, but if I recall correctly the only one that asked me for anything was the bowyer?
When I went to Matteo he just said that it was alright for me to be harad's apprentice. I dont recall being asked anything about Gritta. Also there is nothing in my journal about that quest current, completed or failed.
Is there any other place I can learn to lock pick?
There isn't a way to bash the chests into submission is there? (Asked in true D&D fashion   )
Does anyone know if there is something in the saved file i can edit to enable the lock picking or even change to trigger Thorben to teach me? (I dont like messing with hacking files but...  )

I don't know if the quest will trigger, but I remember a conversation with Meldor or maybe it is Lehmar about who owes him money. Maybe talk to them and see. It can't hurt. I had already done Gritta at that point in time. So I can't say Thorbens name will come up.

Depending on what else you've done so far to the thieve's guild, you'll get an opportunity to learn it there. You must have done the gritta quest or you wouldn't be on with Harad. You must have been blessed or you wouldn't be with harad. As far as modifying the save file, I don't mess with those

Ok, thinking about it and someone said something about talking to Lehmar about the debt, I vaguely remembered that someone said if I got the book for them they would be greatful. So I beat the piss out of that fat b*st*rd and "borrowed" the book, yeah borrow it that's the ticket.
Anyhow I took the book to Thorban and gave it to him he said WOO HOO, thanks, and oh btw i'll teach you lock picking now... So Now I know how to lock pick.
