Need help with shrink spell, pls. Ive found a shrink scroll but when i try to use it (LMB + UP) all that happens is i look like the statue of liberty with glowing green hand, and monster just keeps hitting me. The scroll doesnt get used but my mana goes down. How do u use the blasted thing? Btw i have checked the walkthrough. |

There are several possibilities:
- everyspell needs sometime to be casted (some f. e. teleport spells need relatively long time and shrink spell is one of them), so try to hold buttons little bit longer
- I think shrink spell needs you to touch your target, but I am not sure
- some spells "drink" mana during whole time they are casted. This mean that if some spell needs f. e. 20 mana and you have 19, you can start to cast it, it will appeare as you cast it, it will drink mana, but it will stop moment before "invocation" of spell should be done and there for nothing will happen. So check your mana and max. mana and eventualy buy some rings that will allow you to have more max. mana points.

thanx for u're prompt reply. I have 30 mana pts (thats max as well), and my test subject is a scavenger, (die to quick against troll). The scavanger is right in front hitting me so we're close enough. I select the scavenger with the LMB, then i push UP. My charac raises hand over head and stands there. My mana drains away. The scroll remains. I have tried pushing UP again but I just start casting again and end in same place. Other arrow keys dont help. Btw i'm in chap 1-will this affect it. |

Shrink monster needs only 5 mana (so my question about enough mana was not clever, every character has 5 max. mana).
But I think - I am not sure - that shrink scroll can be used only on trolls - on big trolls... Why? Because it makes from huge troll small troll - and maybe it is not possible to make from small scavenger even smaller scavenger.
So you should try it on troll.
But - are you in point of story where you should kill this monster? I mean that in this point of story Diego will help you and it will be much easier (troll will attack Diego and you will have more time to try to use this scroll).
P. S. - I had also some problems with usage of this scroll, I needed two or three tries.

I have an idea why the spell might not be going off. If you get hit by an opponent while casting a spell, the spell can be interrupted and the mana gets wasted and you begin casting the spell all over again. This can happen over and over until you run out of mana. It's happened to me quite a few times. So, try to get far enough away from whatever you want to shrink(but still within spell range)or try to get up on something (like a rock or ledge)where the monster can't reach you, then shrink it. |
