Heroes of Might and Magic

I am interested in duplicating a HOMM 2 scenario (Pyramids) by using the HOMM 3 mapmaker and would rather not have to go pixel by pixel. I'd also like to keep the scenario's flavor intact - especially the way the computer opponents play the game.

Is it is possible to lift the entire scenario from 2 into 3? And if so, how do you go about it?
