Patch

I have not downloaded the unoficial patch yet, should I wait until they release the oficial patch, and does anyone know if they will remove the safedisc on the oficial patch?

We don't know. We know now from Pete Hines that the patch will be out next week, not necessarily on June 10th, but next week if nothing goes wrong.

Maybe there is a reason for everything. And i am not behind the doors of the making of this game but.... Let me say this first hehe. Sure games have bugs after release and get patched but most of the time its minor glitches. But you mean to tell me that these guys released this game and didnt try to play it even on a top end pc before releasing it? This game doesnt have bugs. It just runs like crap. Even if you are getting 60fps its horrible. Sure its playable and is a great game but after a while i just cant take it. Especially after playing many other games that run so good. I dont think a patch can help the problems of this game but i could be very wrong. I guess we will see. Actually i am praying that it fixes the game because this game rocks!! If not R.I.P.

The reason you should download the "unofficial patch" is simple, it is not a patch. It is a modified executable. This executable does nothing to the rest of your system and does nothing to the rest of your game. All it is is the normal execuatable without the "safedisk" part, it still checks the CD, but because the safedisk is not there, it runs faster.(and is smaller).

So basicly the "patch" wont modify your game, and wont stop you from upgrading (via a real patch) later, as your original morrowind.exe is still intact.

So download it and have a better experience. Note: when i first used it i got some wierd video errors (world looked like it was flooed and i could see through some things and such) however i went into my video settings and changed a few things around and now dont have a problem.

I've just discovered that my old savegames made with the patch will not function without the patch. Meaning I now have to begin again if I want to stop using it.

Also, 'myros tweak' has a MASSIVE bug in it. I killed a Daedric Summoner. I got a message saying I'd just killed Lord Somethingorother, the Daedric Amulet I'd brought with me to this temple (I had no amulet, never heard of the amulet, and wasnt in a temple) was taken from me and now I could weild the Crescent Blade. I was then TELEPORTED across the world to Tel Fyr, inside a Telvanni Stronghold, and had the Crescent Blade in my possession.

DONT use these things, they're murder. I'm having to abandon three weeks of development as a result. More fool me.

I used my old morrowind.exe & had no problems opening saved games that i had saved with the "safedisk morrowind.exe"!?!?

Might have something to do with any mods you have installed?

Read what I posted. I'm not talking about a modified .exe. I'm talking about using WormGod's difficulty mod, and Myros' difficulty mod. Both mods result in savegames that are unusable without the mods, and Myros' mod contains at least one showstopping bug.
