I'm at the area where you have to climb down a very long ladder to the cave floor. At the bottom are 3 guards with crossbows.
By the time I am half way down the ladder, I'm either dead from their bolts, or I fall to my death from being hit by bolts on the ladder. If I try to jump down I also die.
How do I get down there in one piece? What is the best way for dealing with the multiple crossbow bearing guards down there?

You have to kill them the best way possible. I don't know what skills you have, try a crossbow if you have one, cast some spells if you have any, jump down and take cover then attack with your sword. Any way you can, but you still have to kill them.

It was not problem for me. I normaly climbed down the lader and then killed them with bow. |

Climb halfway down the ladder, jump onto the hut and hide behind the hut. Then take them out with your sword. |

OK, thanks for the replies.
I have 2H sword mastery and bow mastery. I tried what you all have mentioned but always ended up dead. I'm level 21 with 300+ hit points.
Anyway, I thought there might have been a better/easier tactic to kill them all. I guess I'll just keep trying.

Tsk tsk tsk, tactics boys tactics. Come at 'em from behind... Circle around from the other side, You can get to the bottom of the mine by going through the crawlers, and end up next to The Orc, then you don't hafta deal with the 5000 foot ladder until it's time to leave (at which time you blow the guards away from the other side).
