Madras is he worth having in the party

He is a 8th level gadgeter but does not seem to hold up to punishment to well. Although a gadgeter might come in handy I suppose. Opinions???

I tried him for a little while. He really is not worth it if you ask me. Although it can be fun to play around making gadgets if you've never done that before....
IMO the only one worth having is the droid.

Most of the NPCs really aren't worth dragging around. The robot monk and Vi are the best in my opinion.

Yah. I take Vi to Braffit & He'Li's just for the XP, bux, and Stun Mace. I used to take the droid with me as far as Crock's if i had a smaller party, but i've found that unnecessary lately; now that i've been letting my characters practise more, they're making it that far around L8. I'm gonna try next with a 2-member party, also without any RPC's. (I've done the solo, whatta pain, no portal for the last 1/3...)

My first party has no gadgeteer, and never used Madras as an NPC. No classes are ever essential at any point (people have reporatedly won the game using a solo character and no NPCs), so if you're not happy, get rid of him.
Now my second party does have a PC gadgeteer, but this is done for variety to give me chance to play with one. He's at a low level in the lower monastery, so he's mostly being used as a thief so far. He's my fastest leveling character, and I'm happy with him. But if I had to swap out a character, I feel he's the most expendable at this point.
