Hello!

I recently started playing the demo of Gothic. At first I was unimpressed the graphics were great but the interface really stunk. But I gave it another try and like it so much I have ordered the game, only wish you could play a female though after seeing what the woman do in the game perhaps its better I am a playing a guy lol. I have also ordered Morrowind have been following this game since it was first mentioned little over 3 years ago.
These are both great games...Gothic becouse its actually simple but indepth enough to keep most hardcore RPGers interested and the storyline is very unique. As for Morrowind its great for people that like extremely complicated games I have a feeling the learning curve will be at least as hard as daggerfall was. Just wanted to add my 2 cents, and also if anyone can tell me is there a way to get better armor in the demo then what you can buy off Fisk? Thanks

Ah, a new face !

Welcome to the boards, enjoy your stay.
You're not the only one who wished for the option to play a female protagonist in Gothic...

As I never played the demo I can't tell you if there's another armor available, but to be true, I don't think so. Perhaps somebody else knows...
Besides, the demo savegames aren't compatible with the full version ones. So when you get the real thing you will have to start over...but at least you'll be used to the controls by then .

By raising your post count. Every fourty posts your pic and title will change, and after 300 you get to chose your own avatar. Should you meet people with an avatar of their own and less then 300 posts, they're either members of the RPGDot staff or the staff of a RPGDot hosted site, or game developers.
Just try to refrain from spamming, there were people who tried that to get their pic quickly. It didn't help them .

I've never played the demo but i think it only involves the first chapter.
The best armour you can get is the novice lioncloth from the templar at the sect camp gate before joining a camp. It has an extra 5 protection against fire then the digger trousers. But that dosn't make any differnce because any fire monsters would kick you anyway at this stage. So you may as well stick with the diggers trousers.
Im not sure but i think you can get heavy shadows armour or the ecivilent(i can't spell) from the other camps just before you finish chapter one.
Chapter2 dosn't start to you go see to sect camp again.

Welcome.

The demo is limited to the area around the OC. You cannot get better armor legally. Itīs of course possible to cheat them.

Actually :)

I downloaded a savegame file that was posted in the hints/cheats. I have pretty much done all I could in the demo so wanted to mess with it some. This save game was a level 6-7 and had a few extra skill points to spend which was nice, and seems to work fine within the demo. Also heres the odd thing, in the demo with my regular save game there was no guards posted in the weapon/armor room in gomez's castle, however when I loaded up this save there were guards. In fact they killed me when I tried to "peek" inside a chest. I did manage to get better armor this game allowed me to join the Shadows and get Shadow Battle armor, its quite impressive though spendy 1200 ore from Deigo. Anyone know how I might get more skill points? Not enough thing in the area to kill for levels
so I have to resort to other means *g*.

Oh one other suggestion they need to offer female avatars for female noobs.
