I'm not sure. When you push wrong switches the room fills with gas. It's gas room. |

another similar one has two sparklies.
middle, left, then right switches - otherwise you keep getting two shadow warriors.
This could be a way to bump up your experience if you are really desparate.
I am getting really fed up with this part of the quest. I just want to get back to the forests. _________________ "How are things?"

That "riddle" is very easy. Basically:
When standing in the main room, looking at the door you want to open, then the combinations are the following:
Left Upper Room: middle, right, left
Left Lower Room: middle (there's only one button)
Right Upper Room: middle, left, right
Right Lower Room: middle, right, left
However, I do not know whether the combos vary between different game. I have english Gothic 2 and these combos work always. Took little of time to find them out, after all, there's only 3 buttons per room (generally). Of course, I personally always flip ALL the WRONG combinations in those rooms, where the mobs spawn, first - because it's additional XP!
You can make the game more challenging, if you wish. There's a line in gothic2.ini file, which will let you 'scramble' the combinations on locks (and possibly on riddles too, no idea) each time you load the game. Which means that the chest locks will have all the different combinations then the last time you tried. May be fun, but personally I don't find it worth the trouble. Namely, if I would get XP per every lock I pick, like in Baldur's Gate 2, then I would do it for fun, but since there's no XP in that, there's no point either. |
