Creeper in Caldera - The ultimate merchant? I beg to differ

I've read on this and several other boards how Creeper in the Ghorak Mansion in Caldera has 5000 gold and buys everything at full price.

Then I read someone say that he wouldn't buy several things.

Same thing happened to me. If you recall, I had a thread about having found a woman in a cave, killed her, and ransacked her room to find miscellaneous things that were worth up to 2400 apiece. They were Master's Cup and Master's so on. Someone suggested UI try the alchemist in Balmora, while everyone else raved about Creepr.

Well, I went to see Creeper. He told me he needed beer money but he wouldn't buy any of my "Master's" things.

And as for the alchemist in Balmora that I tried, he offered me 118 for a Master's item that was valued at 2400.

*cries*

Help.

I agree to your thread headline...
Like I said, he refuses to accept my "misc." things like jars, goblets and stuff... He just wants weapons/armor from me.
I guess the beer excuse is the same as "I don't buy that item"...
But, sorry, I can't think of any particular place to sell those rare misc. thing of yours...

Well, there is Ababel Timsar-Dadisium in the Zainab camp SW of Vos. He has 9000, but even though my faction with him is 58/100 he only offers me 1/10th the value of the items. Perhaps if you are a Dark Elf he will like you and give you better prices.

I play a dark elf.
It is strange with these camps, the ppl are dark elves like me but they hate me from start. Like 10/100 or sth. They just seem to have sth. against me from the start, and obviously it's PROBABLY not my race!

Maybe these people just want to be left alone, thus hating all strangers.
Anyone had good reactions? =)

It's a possibility those Master's items are quest items *shrugs*

Actually there are only many items Creeper buys. He also takes scrolls and potions. Actually anything magic, and weapons and armor. He's also an exception because normally you don't get the full price. It's not the other merchants that are bad, creeper is just "too good". The only reason they put him there, i think, is because they didn't want to give any merchant huge amounts of cash, and that's the only way you can get rid of the expensive 100k+ items that you find lots of later in the game.

Actually, it probably IS your race. You're an outlander, and even worse, your a dark elf outlander. For some reason, the Dunmer hate anyone not from morrowind, and ESPECIALLY dark elves not from morrowind.
