how do i clear saved games

Go to the save game folder on your hard drive and delete or move them if you want to save them. Usually I move them to a different folder and save them for future use.

I've created a "savegame" directory with a hundred of subdirectories each with the savegames of a different game... like Val said, for future use

Or you could just save over them.
