yes i know it adds to the imersion and all that crap but i just dont like it when an NPC tells you something important and you cant understand them because they speak english with a really strong accent |

I think madgamers.new summed the whole thing up . . .
"the voice acting in Gothic II is an object lesson in how not to do things: stilted conversations, sentences which HAVE all THE stresses IN the wrong plaCES, out-of-place American accents, peculiar slang, inappropriate wisecracks, and some very dubious translation. In one unintentionally humorous moment, it's even possible to hear one of the voice actors leaning away from the microphone and discussing his technique with an unseen studio operator."
In fact madgamers.new summed up the whole game very well in my opinion . . .
"nice game idea, shame about the execution. With a bit more polish and a little more consistency, Gothic II could have been a minor classic. As it is, it's a minor curio for dedicated fans of the genre only."
It said a similar thing in PCFormat magazine about the accents being out of place. _________________ Repent, redeem, revenge and deploy. |

I agree with most of that, apart from the quote above. Even with all its faults, the Gothic games are mild Classics (better than minor). With the issues fixed it would be a major classic. _________________ IMHO my opinion is humble |

I thought that was a very good voice actor. Rosi (or whatever she was called) was miserable and her voice showed that. _________________

In the orignal gothic all of the voice actors sounded very american to me.
There were many of them that sounded like they were from New York.
Jewish accents as well.
This fit in with the story for me. It took place in a prison colony. The story is something like the movie escape from New York. |
