OK I understand from talking to people that I have to train my skills and noone wil train me in until I have joined a faction.

But I wold like to use my points to raise my stats at this early point. Do I need a trainer to do this? DO I need to be a member first?

Ok, this might spoil a bit, but if you really need the answer, here it is:

Counting only Old Camp individuals since its there you are most likely to be as a rookie:

All theese teaches you without joining a camp:

* Diego trains your dexterity & strength for free.

* Fingers trains your pickpocket/picklock skills for free and can lead you to Calivorn that can train you in bow and Sneak.

* All "hunting skills" are available from one of the two Rangers that you meet when you go from the starting point to the old camp. Costs a bit but you will defenitly get your money back quickly of you know thoose skills.

* The Arena owner can train you in 1h combat for money.

Only things you need to join a camp for is Magic, 2h weapons and Crossbow.

*spoiler if youd like to plan (save) your skillpoints*

If you want to be a Mage you want to join the Old Camp the quickest way possible, as a warrior you do fine with just hanging around and spend points in strength/1h weapons... But you need 70 skillpoints to reach 2h level 2...

The only option with Diego is END.

That should never happen. Perhaps if you join New Camp or Sect camp, but never as long as you stay in the Old Camp. Even when you pop into Diego later on he will teach you str/dex if you ask him...

You forgot challenging Kharim (something) in the Arena. Before entering the arena, drop your all your Ore somewhere else. Let him beat you silly. He will then reach for your ore, but dont find any. Stand up (after awhile), go get your ore, and then talk to the arena master again.

He says its very cool of you to dare challenging Kharim, and vote for you =)

You can also do a quest for Thorus (keep telling him that you are competent), when you find Mordrag follow him to new camp instead of killing him. It will
a) solve the quest
b) award you with more xp
c) give you a very easy way to enter the new camp

Best Regards
