Stealth: & Shield, Reflextion, Snakespeed! (Spoiler)

I thought there was a thread in here about Stealth Training, but i couldn't find it; the Search has a bug that won't let itself backpage...
Anyway, the good news is that Stealth training, ie. standing around on "Defend" while being missed by whatever's not killing you for a couple thousand rounds (take a nap) DOES work for Shield, Reflextion, and Snakespeed. If you get hit occasionally, that will build Ironskin, too.
Since they all develop independently, none 'rob' any others. And there's no bad news!

I'll have to try that out. I just installed Wizardry again.

Kewl! My favorite way is to get Stealth and Shield together at L4 in the Monastery, just go Seeker hunting, as Rogues (they can use shields, and the Rogue level takes fewer XP) except, of course, any Monks or Ninjas!
Don't forget to switch weapons, so your shield is being used.
Then, around L16, when everyone is at 100 Dex, and the haster is at 100 Speed, you gotta find something that'll shoot at you and not kill you, and in a place where other mobs won't be wandering by...(If i have enough AC by then, i do this with Apuses in LMB)
The fastest of them all to develop is Stealth, unless you've got Strength over 70 and Int under 30, then Shield is faster. The slowest is Snakespeed, and Ironskin is just incidental, so maxxing it this way is a lot slower than the other skills. Reflextion increases relative to misses about as often as Stealth, but if you're already stealthy, the mobs defend fairly often, so that slows it down in terms of time.
You can really see how the Attributes affect learning, and how the learning curve gets really steep around 90 in any skill. I usually stop at 100 Stealth, most of them will be using shields again during Reflextion practise, so they get 100 easily then.
