How far can you go without using a skill point?

I'll ask the question in terms of exp. level and how far into the game...

So far in my 2nd run-through of the game, I've gotten to level 6 without using a skill point, and I still have a couple of fluff (minimal combat) quests to do, like Boloros' weapon and all the old mine stuff. And plenty of scavengers, bloodflies, and molerats to run through... Too bad I can't seem to take out a wolf or lizard without at least some training in a weapon...

I expect to be at level 7-8 and be into chapter 2 (until I need to fight crawlers) before I cave in to some sort of training...

Anyone else try this?

One has gotten to level 10 without using a single skillpoint.
It's a memeber of rpgdot named JemyM

JemyM is neither RPGDot nor GothicDot member, he has his own project V:tMR - WoD MoD.

The trick is not advancing as far as possible without using skillpoints. You can make yourself a quickstart savegame with all minor quests solved but no camp joined. Then you can start from this save on your next turn, join your prefered camp and start spending skillpoints.
JemyM´s file turned out to be a bit overpaced. There have been no negative reports about the current version by Nubkaz.

That's actually what I've just done with my current game. I've done all of the quests that I can while not joining a camp, and now I'm at level 7. I guess it's a good way to replay Gothic as different camp/class. I've gone a bit past, and am finding it really annoying to have to pick all of those chests in Gomez's castle and barracks again, though... Oh well, ore's ore...
