Character critique?

I am aiming to make a fast, agile, unarmored swordsman who uses illusion, restoration, and maybe destruction. How could this work? I'm thinking dark elf or redguard right now.

the dark elf would be the choice if you wanna use magic. just put speed, agility, unarmored, longsword, restoration as major skills, and illusion, sneak, security, destruction, and whatever you want as the fifth skill. you should do ok with this character i think.

hmmm.... i wouldn't recommend illusion. not very useful i think. myticism is my choice since u can use the mark & recall spell and soul trap. once u're at a high enough level, illusion becomes quite unnecesarry.

u should put athletics in major and choose the steed sign (+25speed) if u really want a super fast character at start. the faster u r, the harder it is for you to be hit.

since u're gonna be unarmored, i suggest u also go for destruction or marksman for the long range attacks.

Why does illusion become unnecessary? Athletics as a major skill? Sounds like overkill, why not a minor skill? And finally, yes I will be unarmored, but the coolness of this character is he doesn't use ranged attacks. Think kensai from Balder's Gate 2, but with magic. Thanks for the suggestions.

WHAT? illusion, USELESS? are you nutz? if you are a thief, and like to sneak into peoples houses, murder them, and pilfer goods from everywhere, you WANT illusion, its GREAT! and you can modify all the peoples opinion of you, if you dont have speachcraft!!! and other great things...

Well I was only interested in illusion for combat. How can you use it for fighting? Can you blind an enemy, make yourself invisible? Is there anything like "mirror image" from warcraft's blademaster?

My favorite custom illusion spell is 50% blind to enemy + 50% sanctuary on self. Practically nothing can hit me
