First Person Mode?

Is there an option or cheat that allows you to move forward in First peron mode. I can only look around and and look back while moving.

First Person mode

Hopfully within Gothic2 you will be able to move around in first person perspective as I find First person games far more atmospheric. I really can't believe that Gothic1 did'nt have this option as this would appeal to a wider ordience

First Person View

I still think that Gothic1 is an fantastic game and highly underated by the reviews. I loved Ultima Assension which is very similar, but the graphics and game engine in Gothic is far superior and way ahead of many games of this type.

first person view

I've only just started playing but I am well into it already. It is really addictive. I'm looking forward to Morrowind when it comes out. Should be good!

Heh. When I started playing Gothic I kept wondering to myself why it wasn't first-person. I found the third-person thing to be misleading since I expected it to be a cheap console-esque RPG. It didn't take me long to realize the wisdom of third person. It just gives you a better view of battles for swordfighting and the Hero's changes as he learns stuff really should be viewed by the player. It's all very neat. It's immense fun watching the guy skydive and such.

And as for me, one of my favourite things was ... er, well, the scenery. The AI was fantastic, the story was brilliant ... but the utter craftsmanship of the lands topped it all. The high places you could just look out from really justified the more than occasional 'Damn ...'.

Hold f(or whatever key is bound to firstperson look mode) while running. Youll get a first person mode alright...

Yes that is true. But well that is not real f-m, only when you need to look closer to something.

I prefer the 3rd person look of the game. It's much easier to see what's going on.

I'm all for 1st person, but in this case (as in the case of Tomb Raider or Legacy of Kain) I'll make an exception and say that 3rd person if fine, too .

I also prefer 1st person view, but there are games in which it is better to have 3rd person view.
