A new guy, and a Question.

Hello all, i'm the newbie here..
I've finished Gothic II as Merc, Mage and Paladin. Great game. Played over 80+ hours on it.. Can't wait for Night of the Raven to come out. Looks great.

So now i've decided to play Gothic 1.. It's amazing to see how things have changed from part 1 compared to part 2. Great how they've done it. :)Anyway.. My simple question is this.
Is there any mods that alter the graphics (improve textures etc) other then the FPS mod? (which works great) It's just a eye sore to go from Gothic 2 to Gothic 1's slightly less graphics.

Re: A new guy, with a few questions

Here's another question for you guys.

How many guilds are there, and what are they?
I'll refer to Gothic 2 to make it clearer...
In gothic 2 it was very simple to find a guild etc. Merc/Paladin/Mage etc.
But this one seems to have quite a few.. I'm not sure how they interlate which each other. Example, if i became a Shadow, is that like getting a apprentiship in Gothic 2. So u can still choose a guild or is being a Shadow like being in the milita, before becaming a paladin. OR novice before mage etc...

It's...
Old Camp: Shadow -> Guard or Fire Mage
New Camp: Rogue -> Mercenary or/and (later) Water Mage
Brotherhood: Novice -> Templar

hm... i didn't played Gothic I, but is i see, you have more guilds... well i mean you haev different ways when you join a guild.

in Gothic II you have 6 in total, (merc/dragonhunter, militia/paladin and novice/fire mage) and in Gothic I you have 8, you can be 2 different in each guild (exept the novice)

Well not really 6 guilds..You have 3 guilds in Gothic2. Just different ranks in each. Although you could call a dragonhunter a guild. You can't be one unless you go through mercs, so it's more like a rank.

In gothic you still have 3 guilds. But the ability to move between them. Which i like. I'm going through it way of new camp. Then i'll go about it with the old camp, then the swamp camp. After i'm used to everyone and everything etc. I'll mix it up.
