| Fighters Guild Quest - Kill Hard-Heart? |
|
Im trying to do Mercius' quest to kill Hard-Heart. How can you get him to attack you? I also tried to do Hard-Heart's quest to kill the Thieves Guild bosses, but I cant get them to attack me either, no matter how much I Intimidate or Taunt. If I attack any of them, I am labeled as a criminal, and cant go back into those places, where I killed them, because every one else attacks me....
Any ideas? |

I've run into the same situation.. (the "blood bath" of the Tog members quest). I've attempted to intimidate, etc. and never evoked a response other then in the conversation window. Unless there is some other way to do it we may have to just kill them all and take the reputation hit. *shrugs* Anyone have any alternatives? |

Jeez....I keep taunting and taunting, and they wont attack me...there has to be a way! |

Patience, you need to have a rating in the 30's. Otherwise, they just say 'your pathetic'. You have to bribe them up into the 30's then taunt. Repeat as needed. |

Press the CTRL key to go into "stealth" mode. dont worry about successfully sneaking. While holding CTRL press space - this attempts a pickpocket.
You of course fail the pickpocket. Your subject gets mad at you and tries to kill you. Kill him. You will have a bounty of 25 for pickpocketing. You killed him out of self-defense. Find a guard, pay off your bounty, mission accomplished. |

Taunt does work though. You just have to keep trying with your faction in the 30-50 range. You have to Admire or Bribe it back up if you go below 30 without succeeding and having them attack you. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 successes while in this range for it to work (they just give you the "Goodbye" dialogue option). |
