Man was that fight brutal. Crossbow bolts flying everywhere, Gorn killing everything in sight. The minecrawlers were basically a side show. I had a guard get up and wack me a good one. Forgot to kill him. I didin't make that mistake again.

Well, in the mine Gorn sometimes is as tame as a little lamb.
I actually managed not to kill anyone in the mine the second or third tour around, but for a while I had quite a huge following .
To keep Gorn from killing all those disarmed guards, I had to speed to the exit to enter the outside world again where he spawned with me.

Why did you want to prevent Gorn from fighting? Am I missing something? I remember I had to do a lot of shooting down there.

Jaz doesn't believe in indiscriminate killing.

...and it IS possible to get through the game with very little human casualties (even though not with a zero killing rate). Too bad this doesn't apply to orks as well, I hate it that they always die for good.

Yeah, killing is bad folks.

I particularly like the way people are knocked out rather than killed because:

i) See above, killing is bad.

ii) Being killed just pushes you out of the game into the save/load system, which destroys immersion. Much better to have in game penalities, like being frisked when you're down.

I'd much rather see more in-game penalties - being captured and sold as a slave, being branded, losing more important objects, other characters reacting to you differently because you a) fought, and b) lost, ending up in a hospital etc etc.

I have to agree, these are some good ideas.

Yes they are, but most players would just reload anyway. if they lost their favorite item for instance. Still, you could have some fun with it being part of the story where a guy in prison
gives you some information or some such. Good ideas.

If you had the capability of getting a swiped or taken item back, and it didn't just float off into the Etherworld of Scripting, I doubt I'd ever reload a game.

And even that's probably only an issue for 'quest-type' items. With things like weapons... well there are plenty of in-game ways of finding a new one...

Well, Gorn followed me into the New Mine, acting like I was his best friend. Then, as soon as I shoot a few OC guards, Gorn suddenly turned on me, saying that "someone from the Old Camp was dead and my name was connected to it." I thought he was supposed to help me take back the New Mine, not turn on me while we perform the deed. Very unusual...

Well, Tip, it's what he always does. It's a bug that made me seriously dislike Gorn ...
