Say, do the women in this game have any use besides being ornaments? I mean they all say "Shhh, you're not allowed to talk to us." Do you ever get to have a discussion with any of them, or do any of them join you, or give you a quest, or ask you for help at any point in the game?
Just curious. I know that most RPG's use women as a lure to get people to play the game...look at the stupid Everquest boxes if you don't know what I mean. The difference between them and Gothic is in games like EQ, the developers try to pretend that they aren't just using gratuitous sex to sell the game by making women part of the world. That way they can use the sex to attract younger guys and then when someone accuses them of objectifying women and that the nudity is gratuitous they can pretend surprise and say, "That's ridiculous! What? Are you saying that women *shouldn't* be allowed to carry a sword? So we shouldn't have put women in at all?!"
In Gothic, the developers don't mess around. Frankly, the women are objects, and they are there for the enjoyment of the more powerful prisoners like Gomez.
This started out as a question post. Do the women have any purpose in the game besides being something pretty to look at?
