Wow! I finally finished a game. Best damn experience!

i've only finished a game one other time and that was the first diablo. and i've been playing games since the atari 2600. that tells you what a great game this was. i love the colony. it's a place i would very much like to visit.

i have to say that gothic was by far my favorite game of all time. i cant wait till gothic 2. i even bought morrowind today and installed and played for 15 minutes and i couldnt stop comparing it to gothic. so i quit and went back to gothic to finish up. i was only about 20 minutes from finishing anyway. there are some things that i like about morrowind, but im afraid i dont like it that much. maybe its because i hadnt finished gothic. i guess im going to have to give it another try. are there any other games like gothic? also this was my first game like this the only other rpg type games ive played are diablo and diablo 2. too much repetive action in diablo and morrowind might be to hardcore of a rpg for me. i also don't like having to worry about making a team of guys.

one more question. what happens after the credits? all it does for me is dump me back out to the desktop.

sorry for rambling i just dont know what to do now?

Wait for Gothic 2 to come out... but aside that, you can use marvin mode and mess around with your enemies
The ending was lame... I was a bit disappointed with it, but then I got to go build my meatbug army

Yeah, Gothic really is a unique experience. Imagine what a blast it was 14 months ago when it was released in Germany!

The crashing after the credits is normal. A possible 2nd turn through Gothic will be (a) a lot faster (b) still enjoyable if you make a different char (c) more relaxed because you know the mechanics.
The cheat system is the best I know (all games, all genres).
You can save some time with the quickstart savegame and teleport cheats.

We have so many threads about (the nonexistence of) similar games to Gothic that every word about it would be wasted. Feel free to use the search button above.
The only games which are sort of similar are Morrowind and Ultima 9. U9 is older and definitely worse than Gothic, Morrowind´s qualities are not clear yet but it surely has the potential of an excellent RPG. I haven´t seen it, so I can´t tell how hardcore it really is.
If you´re searching for infos on specific RPGs RPGDot contains all the infos you need.

While waiting for Gothic 2, you can play Dragonriders: Chronicles of Pern or Vampire: The Masquerade. Both great games for Gothicsouls
