Gorath, our webmaster at GothicDot, has made a large site update today. Here's what's in it:

  • 4 new maps, 3 updated maps. Now we cover every important area of the game.
  • A quickstart savegame, provided by JemyM. You save approximately 15 hours when replaying the game and still have maximum flexibility. Choose the camp you want, all the skill points of a level 9 character are at your disposal.
  • JemyM´s 118 pages long Gothic-FAQ v1.1. Starting with v1.1 GothicDot is one of the official download sites. Many of our forum members contributed to the FAQ.
  • 2 walkthroughs
  • large cheats section
  • strategy guides for combat, magic, char development
  • lists: weapons, items, monsters, spells, etc.
  • all the other infos you expect from such a FAQ.
  • Check out all the details on Gothic@RPGDot.

Thanks for pointing that out, if for nothing else than the map to the Sect Camp. I assume that's new. The Sect Camp, to me, is very confusing and I always get lost there. I have to have Lester hold my hand and guide me around

It's probably right in front of me; but I can't find "A quickstart savegame, provided by JemyM. You save approximately 15 hours when replaying the game and still have maximum flexibility. Choose the camp you want, all the skill points of a level 9 character are at your disposal."

    Great work!

I have never been to a BBS where everyone seems happy to help you.
Normaly when a newbie arrives at other BBS's you get the ignore treatment. Or when you ask a newbie question you get yelled at for not reading every post.

Not so here. I have seen every question answered in diferent ways.
It's a pleasure to know this great game of Gothic and all the great people here in rpgdot.com BBS's. Also gothicdot.
Before I bought the game I was seeking out sites for info and only found german sites.
I was so happy when I found this site. Any problems I have had so far have been solved.

    Yo Gorath and JemyM,

    *you're da men*

    [/Kewl Dude Mode]

Seriously: Way to go, guys! Doesn't make me feel so bad about never managing to replay Gothic and writing a walkthrough as I had originally planned. Next time I'll write the walkthrough on my 1st time through the game and save you some work

Nice to see that people put so much effort into supporting one of the best -if not the best- RPG's ever (IMHO). I just wish that Gothic would be getting more attention from other sources on the net. Aside from being a real good *RPG* it definitely is a very good *GAME in general* as well and as such it deserves more 'hype' than it has generated so far.

@all: Thanx folks, I really appreciate it.

@FF: Good to see you, man.
What happened? The forums are a lot busier, GothicDot has more content, I suddenly found out I´m webmaster, and Gothic has been released (more or less ) in many other countries.

@Moriendor: Consider yourself on the list for a walkthrough on the sequel.
