Regarding Gothic...

I thought to come here and tap the vast knowledge and wisdom of thoses gathered here, for no where else can I find answers to my questions regarding Gothic...
Could someone who has played this game tell me just how I equip a weapon after I pick it up from the ground.? Also, any other useful tips you have discovered along the way would be of great help.!
I noticed that the creators of Gothic didn't put much effort into their manual if I can not even learn how to do basic game play functions, Hope Gothic 2 does a better job of this, I need something to break me from my EQ - addiction.

Was a while ago since I played it now, but first of you should open your inventory and then find the weapon, then I believe you should hit the forward key first and the action key afterwards, not positive on the last part though, it might be the forward key and some other key.

Btw, theres a a whole section devoted to Gothic here so dont post Gothic questions in this topic.

Yep you can access lots of similar issues in the Gothic forum, I had some problems as well especially with inventory and stuff. Basically, highlight in your inventory the weapon then push forward and the left mouse button, thats what I use. All your melee weapons will be hotkeyed automatically to #1, ranged to #2

The most difficult thing to do in Gothic is to swim underwater for extended periods. There is only one place you really need it, and even there you have other alternatives. Actually once you get the hang of it it is quite easy to swim
underwater, but it takes practice.

Select weapon, press ctrl, and then forward while holding the ctrl key in.. you do the same thing (ctrl + forward) to equip/use anything in the game..
