I've just killed Shaman Two in the Sleeper's Temple, went down into that gate with the spikes, looted Shaman Two and I tried to put his sword into that stone with the skull in the floor but nothing's happening. I can't find another weird stone on the floor - so that thing with the skull must be it, but nothing happens - now what? How do I get to the Cave of Death? I'm following walkthrough. Can someone please help me out? Thanks!

It didn't work for me either; but you'll notice that the gate is open now.

It's not the skull stone, it's the "strange shrine." Always worked for me.
