Question about traveling companions.

If you have someone following you and you take a boat or a siltstrider, does your buddy get a ride too?
I know that using a recall spell does'nt work.

It will be also interesting information for me. I always walked with companions.

Btw. if it is possible to travel with him/her by boat or silkstrader, do you pay 2x normal price? :]

Yes, just like walking through a door. Just make sure they're close enough.

PS: If you're willing to tweak the game with the console, use the
"npc name"->setspeed 250
and
"npc name"->setathletics 250
on the console. With the athletics as well, they will climb hills, instead of getting stuck on them, and then running IN THE EXACT OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM ME.... but I'm not bitter...

Since it doesn't affect your char, and tag along npc's are quite useless and idiots as well, it's not actually cheating. Don't know how many times I've had to use tcl to get them through a goddarn door. Or around a signpost. Or simply out of the water...

npc's arte stupid.

Yuo always have to make sure that they are close enough when you go in a door or take a transport method.
Otherwise you have to go back to pick them up again.

I fights there useless to.
They try to fight but they can get killed to easy. You always have to be between them and the animal your fighting.

Traveling with a npc is just difficult.

I found a lost npc south of the red mountain and he said "Please help me get to Ebonheart". I said "sure" and started snailing my way to Ebonheart. Just as we were about to leave the ash lands, the stupid geezer fell into a lava pool, never got out and died. That was after an HOUR of trying to get him to run around rocks, follow straight roads and NOT get stuck on signposts. Gotta love this game sometimes.

Raise your blade if you've ever killed an npc while trying to get rid of the bloody tiny little fish they went out of their way to run into....

Or had an npc DROWN in an open pool of water.

"My, it sure is nice at the bottom of this small pool. I'm glad it hasn't occured to me to float, I might miss the view"

Mattias, I think the npc you're talking about is the same one that caused me to start this thread. It would be much easier to walk to a closer town with boat travel than to walk halfway accross the island.

And I've killed npc's under water more than once while trying to kill fish. I've also killed one or two while trying to kill cliff racers. Never had one drown on me, though I did consider activly drowning one a few times...

Best advice for npc's: save every two seconds. That way you have a recent backup when (not if) they do something stupid.

i always use 2 different save files.
1 is the quick save
and the other i save when i am in a save place, just to have a good backup.
