The Fall: Development Update for English Fans

Silver Style's Julian Dasgupta posted a short update on The Fall's forums, intended to keep English readers appraised as they concentrate on the recent German release. Here's a snippet:
...if you're waiting for news on the English release of the game, don't expect an announcement tomorrow. Or on the next day. There still are things to be sorted out, details to be debated. Etc. Etc. Etc. And keep in mind we right now have to focus on the German version the game. Seriously, there's no release date that's being kept secret or something like that.

I'm fully aware that you guys are growing impatient, but at this point there simply isn't anything to be announced. Take note though that there will be an English version. If you're running across someone who claims the opposite, you should rather ask him/her to share a bit of whatever he/she is smoking.

The question really is what was this guy and his programmer pals "smokin"when they produced this game.

How much ad space did they buy from those magazines?

seriously, is there any chance it could be fixed and playable for an English release or is it just that bad?

I saw Paradise Cracked at Best Buy for $20 last week. I couldn't believe it. I was tempted to buy jsut to see if tis as bad as I hear.

The two CD Fallout 1 and 2 Jewel Case they had for $5. If I didn't already have it I would have bought three.

and i really would like to know what has driven them to release that thing in this state of development ??
Its an astonishing examply for _loss_of_reality_.
After applying Patch No4 it is IMHO unplayable. You can now walk around and collect stuff
(mostly unusable)
but some quests are still broken ( some finishing themselves) one of them is stopping me from continue playing .
game balance is a mess .
And the high ratings in the german game magazines ?
Well, this is exactly the reason why i dont buy these magazines.
There once was a magazine that described crap as crap. But the two most important guys left
and the magazine quickly mutated into one of the "hurray_another_cool_game_you_should_buy"
circus members bought only by the minors.

I dont believe that they can fix this mess. Maybe rewriting is easier .......
And i paid 45€ for this.........ouuuugghhhhhhh !!!!!

The magazine which gave 83% had a big commercial-deal with SilverStyle, they had 5-page-advertisements in the last 3 issues and that means 83% means bullshit, it means 83% = 63% ! Its all about the money- but you can't sell crap. Maybe its unfair because I haven't played it yet but i think they deserve it, 4 patches yet is proof enough i think
