Attack controls and Maps?

Is there a way to change the controls so that you can attack with one key (or mouse click)? As it is set up now you have to be running (or walking) to be able to swing your weapon?

Also, is there a way to see where you have already been on the maps? ... place markers or something?

I just got this game and love it already, but would like to customise it a little better. I have been stuck in the Diablo 2 Expansion game for ages and I hope this will be a nice change. I love Diablo but have been playing nothing but for years!

Thanks for any replies.

to attack with one key I dont think that there is a way.If you want to change the controls generally then go to the main menu of Gothic2.
Well you can play Gothic 2 with the mouse too,but its a little tricky at least for me.
No there isnt a way to mark on maps 'cause this wouldnt be helpful. You have to pass from many places on the map again and again&AGAIN.So if you marked the map everytime then there would be nothing to see at the end.But you can print/screen the map and take some notes on it if you dont remember which place is where or you can visit the RPGDOT' maps.
I never played Diablo so I cant say anything in that......
By the way welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forums.

The Gothics have nothing in common with Diablo. You can switch to an easier combat control system and activate quicksave and instant potions. Read our review for more details.

No, there is a way. Somewhere in the options menu (I can't remember exactly where) there is an option to turn the original Gothic controls on or off. The game automatically turns them on at the beginning.
