well if you want it so bad
you'll have to crack the cd
copy the file on the cd; Gothic2-addon-setup.exe or Gothic2-addon-setup.WO1
if you have the wo1-file you'll have to make it a .exe-file. You can do that with total Comander, open total commander find the file type de file name in the bar on the bottom of the screen don't forget top put.WO1 behind it en press F3 or View then in the programm that opens go to file and save as and then type Gothic2-addon-Setup.exe. Now back to TC and type in the bar: Gothic2-addon-Setup.exe /x now you will see that the setup launches and all you have to do is select all the files and save them(no mater where). now download this file:http://www.gothic-rpg.com/download/install.bat (make sure that you have installed gothic2 on: C:\Program Files\JoWooD\Gothic2) copy it to the map you saved the file in(from the setup) and runn install.bat now you'll see that he will put aal the files organized in C:\Program Files\JoWooD\Gothic2. Now all there's left is to run the 2.6 patch of Die Nacht Des Raben and use the translation-setup(if you want English of course )and you're don. Now you can play Gothic 2 The Night of The Raven.

All the problems the impatient have to endure ...... Just wait until the official english version comes out and you will have your brand new NotR experience which is far better than that half-german-half-english translation business because both the voices and the subtitles will be english.
And you will have the added value of playing the fantastic expansion for the first time while everybody else can only think back with a longing smile to the first time they played NotR, i have the same feeling when my brother plays G2 for the first time and raves about the fantastic thing which i have seen 10 times already
So just have some patience and look to the bright side of things mateys!

Look, while I agree that having the full English everything is preferable, we should not look down upon the hard work the translation team did for us.

I'm not one of those people who will praise a mod just because somebody worked hard on it. I am praising the translation mod because it is worthy. They undertook a large task and saw it through to the end. They provided us with a decent (and at times spot-on perfect) English translation that allowed many to experience NOTR at a time when it was uncertain if it would ever be released.

So quite honestly, I don't like the tone you have been adopting whenever topics aobut the translation mod come up. Nothing is wrong with waiting until an "official" release. At the same time, its not right to treat the translation mod like its some piece of amateur junk.

You mean a game that has been finished for already 1.5 years, that will probably be never released because the publishers screwed up so massively that even they lost the hope of seeing the game ever hit the shelves??!!

@ Elkston: i think we have a little misunderstanding here, i never look down upon any serious mod and i know the translation mod is very good. In fact my computer swarms with all kinds of mods for a lot of games. my remark about ´half-german-half-english translation´ was not about the quality of the mod as such but about the fact that you HEAR german and READ english, which you have to agree is less nice then dialogue and subtitles in the same language. So there is no way i was talking about some piece of amateur junk.
Furthermore you say that i have been more or less flaming this great modification whenever topics about the translation mod come up. This makes me a bit sad, i really like mods, only in this case I decide to wait for the real deal. Maybe i said this in a topic or two about this subject but there is just no way i look down upon this mod, and i wonder why you dislike my tone regarding this subject, i hope you mistake me for somebody else
To make things perfectly clear: Tolgerias likes the translation mod!

The only thing i meant with the problems of the impatient is the endless stream of topics about installing the German expansion on a English game, this seems to be very frustrating for some people

@rotceps
It wasn't a big deal rotceps i just think that everyone that has played or is playing G2 should at least play NOTR once to find out how that game is(much harder much beter looking) and play it in English.
i think the translation-team did a great job on translating de add-on.

@tolgerias
Are you really sure that there is going to be an English NOTR?
because i read that there had been some misunderstanding between Jowood and Atari(or something).

Don't you see those lights are pretty much faded. Just kidding. I used to be just like you, but my hope has faded some time ago.

For those interested. Version 1.31 of the translation mod will be released pretty soon. The only thing that needs to be done is packaging of the files.
To give a scoop, this is copied from the List_of_Changes file that goes with the new version:

code:
1. EVERY SINGLE text file from the addon has been reviewed (about 75000 lines!).
4. Complete new dialogs for the Water Mages, their story now actually makes sense.

Hey,

Im sorry to say that gothic II, still dont work :S. I did everything you said, but when I press Gothicstarter and i choose "Night of the Raven" nothing will start. I also delete everything and start all over, but nothing worked.

I dont know what it is, maybe you have an idea. Those are the steps I made :

1 : Install Gothic II English Version ( cracked ) But i dont copy the crack ( do I have to update or change something? I change some files *.*e to *.*g and so on. Also German gothic.exe placed in system map,
2 : Total Commander install and create gothic2-addon.....
3: extract to map, and then using install.bat to sort the files in /jowood/gothic2 ( some files stay in the map, uninstall file and ccsetup....is this correct?)
4 : patched with v2.6
5 : translate mod
6 : copy the Miles and Sytem maps.....( This must not before the patching and translating? )
7 : Start with gothic starter --> choose Night of the raven --> system doesn't do anything.

Any ideas?

Greetz,

Floater
