I've basically just started the game and am trying to get used to the interface. I have the cook's quest to get him some mealbugs, I found them behind a ruined wall in the Old Camp but they crawl in a line back and forth along the corner of the wall. I walk right up to them but hitting my control + up arrow doesn't pick them up? Any help is appreciated!

You have to kill the mealbug first. If you have a weapon, such as a sword or even a pickaxe, swing at the mealbug when it's at your feet, then it will die. Once it's dead, hit CTRL arrow up and your inventory will open and the bugmeat will be on the left, just select the bug meat and move it over to your inventory if you want it (CTRL arrow right). Enjoy! I hear they're really yummy this time of year. |

Sure Meatbugs are the best ohhh i remember those days when i eated them with Mud some beer and some Rice Shnapps ahh those were the days after it i got drunk and mud taken me to orc shamans and orc shaman turned me into a meatbug so come and eat me  |

I have tried to kill those 2 meatbugs that walk back and forth in a line but.... they dont DIE!.i have swung..and swung... and SWUNG. ughhh, i killed one, outside of camp, but that took about 20 minutes of swinging... PLEASE HELP!, were doesthe stupid bug have to be to die? Mail the answer to ReiCaden@aol.com PLEASE!!!! - thank you |

What weapon do you have at the time.
Pix doesn't seem working for the meatbug.
I remember I was trying to kill them when I first arrived near the first gate. No sucess at all.
Later when I do the cook's quest, I was using sword and it was working fine, at least I kill them in several tries. |

er yea i remember those meal bugs pacing back and forth in that little sunken/abandoned hut in the old camp, sum times you cant hit em, and have to wait till they get stuck and come out to try and pass the other meal bugs 
it can get very annoying, but you dont really need them, only for snaf's recipe quest, wich gets you squot |

Um i just started this great game. My 1st rpg in years well other then SS2. I had the same bug trouble. Answer is Shoot them with bow and arrow then pick them up. No hand weapons worked for me. So i tried my bow and it worked just fine.
Anyone know if me killing MUD will be a PRoblem later on in the game? Wher does one find the apples? |

Meatbugs can easily be killed with your fist.
You can kill Mud. His only purpose is to be annoying. 
I donīt remember where to find the apples. You should be able to find the answer in the FAQ on GothicDot. |
