Gothic 2: No Second Add-On Confirmed

Piranha Bytes has issued a statement on the official German 'Gothic II' <a href="http://www.piranha-bytes.com/gothic2/content_german/news_headlines.php" target="_blank">website</a>, debunking recent rumors (<a href="http://www.rpgdot.com/index.php?hsaction=10077&newsid=26065">story</a>) of the development of a second 'Gothic II' expansion pack. "A second add-on is currently not in development nor are there any plans to develop a second add-on". <br>They have also updated the English <a href="http://www.piranha-bytes.com/gothic2/content_english/news_headlines.php" target="_blank">website</a> with the mighty late announcement of the US release of 'Gothic II'. The delayed announcement is, of course, Atari's fault according to PB .

I read that last week. It says they are not developing a second German add-on. So what is the add-on reference 'another derivation for the Gothic series' JoWooD mention for release in 2004 but the English add-on?

Does there exist an English version of the add-on? The voice recordings were finished in London last September 2003. Does it exist and no one is speaking about it officially yet?

From the addon discussion thread at English JoWooD Board

‘The addon is ready. Only little things must be made - very little things.
But now it is thing of the publisher (Atari).’ 12-20-2003 01:47 PM, RoiDanton

‘Atari is the publisher. PB is ready with their work and Atari must released the addon now. I have already posted some news about this.
i believe the addon will patch some bugs of the normal game. it will be have a good version.’ 01-15-2004 09:13 PM, RoiDanton

Again, at least, from a view point of JoWood, Atari seems to be quite reluctant to promote Gothic II and its add-on.

I took that to mean that there will be a console only 'derivitiave' of the Gothic theme.

addon #1 (night of the raven) seems to come to US/UK shorlty
addon #2: PB says, THEY are not developing it, but maybe someone else IS?
Not sure about the franchise, but if JoWood ordered another addon from anotehr developer and PB doens't veto, then...
Anywaym, we try to get as much info as possible for you (and outselves

I sure hope it's coming soon. It's just so weird, that they have an english addon ready and waiting to be shipped and they just don't do it.

PB is already working on Gothic 3. It would be very strange if some other game developer was working on a Gothic-addon. I don't think PB would let them. It's there serie, you know

Can PB tell us again if they did even make an English Add-on for sure?
