RPGDot is (now) owned by Jolt, a major European ISP and game-server provider, so I don't imagine finances should be a problem. I would guess that Jolt will run more ads than Rend used to (there were periods in the past when RPGDot ran *no* ads) but if you are thinking that the Fable thing is a sign of desperation, it isn't. Just an ad that got a bit excited, as I understand it. _________________ Editor @ RPGDot |

As Dhruin said, RPGDot is now owned by Jolt, so I can only tell you how things used to be. Financially, we were pretty sane , with the exception of a period where our bandwidth exploded but ads didn't. Back in 2002, there was a point where I thought about closing shop due to the expenses, but we managed to get along and things turned much better then. Our main financial problem was that we didn't have the time or manpower to actively look for ad clients.
At the time being, the RPGDot network has all the means needed for expanding and offering better services. We will move to a server cluster later this year, and we will run a game server - and do other things not to be disclosed now. _________________ Rendelius

Is RPGDot owned by Jolt in genral, i mean don't you have any stocks in it, and if you have, the site as i guess is copywrited by Jolt, this means that Jolt can ban you whenever it want ? _________________

I won't go into contract details, but what I can tell you is that editorial freedom is guaranteed by them. There are two things that allow Jolt to interfere (and very reasonable things): when we write something that is against the law and when we write something that is harmful to Jolt (like making their finances public or spreading other internas). Apart from that, we continue to work like we always did - and I am certain that nobody ever will notice the change of ownership by what we write. You will, hopefully, notice it because of a faster server and more services _________________ Rendelius
