I just got the game and am impressed with it overall....but..........What's up with the graphics? I'm a sucker for eye-candy, so I maxed all visual options, resolution at 1024x768 in 32 bit color, and it looks like a Playstation 1 game! Am I missing something here?
My computer is more than capable to handle it. Man, the pics on the box look sweet anyway

Please advise......Thx!

Hmm...
I think that graphics is very very nice (maybe not exactly same as in 1st person shooters - but I think that it is not worse, just other).
I like it very much and I think it is on highest level of todays game.
So either you have other opinion or there is something wrong with your installation/PC.
Maybe it will help - compare your expiriences with many screenshots here:

-are you sure you pressed return to apply the resolution change?

-max out everything, type 'toggle frame' in the console and increase the resolution as long as your system can handle 20 fps.

-the warmer default colour temperature of your monitor could also be worth a try.

-if you have a strong pc try FSAA or 3D-glasses.

If the graphics look like psx games maybe you're using your software renderer.
