EverQuest 2: Content Galore @ MMORPG.com

MMORPG.com has taken a look at all the changes that have hit 'EverQuest II' since its release. Check it out right <a href="http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/setview/features/loadFeature/96/gameID/2/" target="_blank">here</a>.

Nobody cares

Why are MMORPG developers so oblivious? Potential customers do not care about what has "changed since launch". That is a catchphrase that only current subscribers care about. These developers release games in Beta state or with minimal features and that is all potential customers see. They spend their money elsewhere if the game at release is not what they are looking for.

A million people bought World of Warcraft. The release of their heavily hyped "battlegrounds" will not attract another million customers. Only current players are interested in this development.

I disagree. One of the most common requests on MMORPG gaming sites is for updates on established games.
There are a lot of peeps who don't get a game when it's released because they're scared of buggy gameplay.
Then there's the ever increasing number of MMORPG "hoppers" who jump from game to game and who are very interested in articles like this to find out what's changed since they cancelled.
You also have to take into account that those people (the "hoppers") have already used up their free 30 days so articles like this one at MMORPG.com help in making the decision whether you want to dish out US$ 15 for a month or not.

And, finally, why do you say "Why are MMORPG developers so oblivious"? This article has been done by an MMORPG.com staff writer.

Anyway, I don't see what's wrong with bringing people up-to-date regarding changes to an evolving game.
