Yes you can throw, I have done it on many occasions. It only seems to happen with arrows so far. Dont ask me how the hell I am doing it because I dont have a clue.

I just seem to end up with an arrow in my hand and when I click the actions button he throws it.

I always draw my sword when that happens... then I have to pick up my arrow.
