Do i need the manual?

Firstly, this might sound like i have a "nonpaid" version. This is NOT the case!

I'm from Sweden and i bought the game in Germany recently (for a good
price).
I asked the guy in the store specifically if he knew if it included an English
manual and he said yes.
Well, now i'm home and have opened the package and... Just a german
manual!

So, i just wanted to ask. Do i need the manual to play the game?
Or can i figure it out anyway?

I'll try babelfish or simular, but from experience they don't work very good...

Thomas.

The manual doesn't help you that much, you can work it out without it.
I too got the game overseas and forgot to bring the manual with me. It took up to much space anyway, did you know they limit how much you can bring on the plane.

Just stick with the controls at the start of the game. It takes a while to get use to them but after that they are great.

The FAQ on GothicDot is better than the manual. Unfortunetely your biggest problem won´t be the manual. The game is also in German.

Controls are simple:
-if you´re right-handed use alternative (ASDW) setup.
-the thing refered to as 'action key' is the left mouse button (LMB) or ctrl
-~90% of all simple things are done with action + forward!
-the other 10% are combat and trading. Read this up in the FAQ.

Beware of spoilers! JemyM´s FAQ includes masses of stats and a complete walkthrough.

You were right there Gorath! The whole game is in German, i just found out
after installing...
Didn't think so far, when you buy a game in Sweden it's ALWAYS in English
(atleast as an option).

Oh,well. Atleast it wasn't so expensive.
Anyone want Gothic in German? I'll send it for free!!!

but i checked and it's 580mb big!

So, just to let you know i wasn't kidding:
I will send the game for free if anyone wants it.

Hehe, it would be cool with a german version of the game I'll pay you for it.
I live in Denmark, and my bigbrother lives in Malmö, so it shouldn't be a problem.. How can I contact you? ICQ, MSN or what?

Tocca, the English version should also reach budget status soon, with G2 only 5 months away.

Games in Germany are always in German, unless clearly stated on the cover. It´s simply impossible to buy an English Gothic in Germany.

Thanks for the tip Gorath. I'll wait for the budget version here in Sweden.
Or i might even get it for full price, the demo was very promising!

I should have checked it better before leaving Germany, i bought another
game cheap too (Skispringen RTL) but that one is no problem
playing in German language

LaBaN: Contact me on ICQ: 72128503 and we'll work something out if
you're serious about wanting it...
