Gothic 2 is in the works now. From what I've heard, we can look for it next year sometime.
Until then, I'll be waiting for it like a starving man would wait for a juicy steak... |

I'm hoping for a 2002 release...summer 2002 sounds fine or even earlier..since the graphics engine is exactly the same as Gothic..developing time is not as much as let's say it was for PYro studios: Commandos1 to commandos2 a complete new graphics engine ...i really hope gothic2 will show up this year.. |

It's sure it will be before Warcraft III or Team Fortress 2.

not exactly:
GF4 MX is successor of GF2 MX. It has some of the GF4 TI features (lma2, accuview antialiasing), but has no programmable T&L (hardware pixel and vertex shaders). And of course GF4 MX is considered lowend card. But all GF4 TI accelerators (4200,4400,4600) have updated T&L engine (nfiniteFX 2), what means full hardware DX8.1 . Especially two parallel vertex shaders are nice. 80+ fps in Aquanox show how powerfull those cards are.
It's a pitty Nvidia hadn't included 1.4 (or 2.0) pixel shaders. Seems we have to wait for GF5 family with that. |

Clarification :
Apology:
Actually i was just reading that Link that was posted Above ( by Gorath ) and this is a Cut and paste section from the Conclusion of their review.

The performance of the GeForce4 MX440 and 460 cards, however, proved to be very impressive. Especially the GeForce4 MX460, which is able to score results as high as those of the GeForce3 Ti200, or even the Ti500 cards. Both are able to beat ATi's Radeon 7500 in most cases.
Still, none of the GeForce4 MX cards has full DirectX 8.x support, because of its lack of vertex and pixel shaders. This weighs heavily when you remember the lowest priced offering out of the GeForce4 Ti bunch of cards. It's only $20 more than GeForce4 MX460.
I therefore suggest the GeForce4 MX440 for value buyers, but they should try to get the price down to less than $149. Better yet, a value buyer should watch out for GeForce3 cards. Any GeForce3 card that costs less than $190 is a bargain right now. GeForce3 comes with full DirectX 8.x functionality, vertex/pixel shaders and lots of 3D power! If you can chose between a GeForce3 card and a GeForce4 MX card for similar prices, I would clearly go for the GeForce3!

after reading that article i posted a reply, here.
i got to Thinking about what that Guy said in that article. ( how can they build a card with no dx 8. support ?
so i went to Nvidia.com and read ALL the specification on ALL of the New cards..
AND : GeForce 4 Ti and , GeForce MX cards " DO" support Dx 8.1 and GeForce 4 Go, provides support for dx 8.0
Next time before i Post about someone's Review, i will Do my Own investigation

GF4 MX series are going to be rather cheap (<200$). And they only lack programmable T&L. There're still very, very few games supporting vertex and pixel shaders massively (like aquanox or dronez). Games not using these features will run smoothly on every GF4 (of course they may need more than 64 mb for additional textures). On the other side, GF4 MX 460 is more powerful than GF2 ultra, that still can handle a lot of games easily. The weakest "full" version of GF4 TI is only few bucks more expensive than strongest MX. If you need programmable T&L but don't want to spend money on shiny new GF4 TI, you can always get GF3 TI 200 (with older but still good vertex and pixel shaders). |
