Stargate Worlds: Reports @ GameCloud and GamerGod |
|
Both GameCloud and GamerGod have preview articles based on conference call with the development team at Cheyenne Mountain Entertainment. Here's a snip from GamerGod:
Instances – The game will definitely use instancing for adventures within the Stargate. That said, the developers also wanted to stress the vast amount of virtual real estate planned for the game, which is not instanced. Not only do they have large world environments planned, but they also intend on utilizing areas like spacecraft, moons, and potentially the surface of stars and black holes.

Playable Races – At this time, the only races they have confirmed are Human and Jaffa. However, they stated that with the numerous alien races available to them from the series, they intend on adding more playable races.
|

The surface of black holes as real estate? Maybe as a last resting place for our characters, until they are ripped apart by tidal forces...
Seriously, I hope they did not abandon the scientific background checking they seem to have in the series. I mean: weird things happen in Stargate, obviously, but often enough there are funny remarks about it later, and the dialogue mostly makes sense when it comes to physics and biology. |
