My wife got me the game for Christmas, so I can't play until next Tues. But I have been trying to prepare for the experience. Everyone talks about 2H weapon training and I have not seen a shield in any screenshots. Is it possible to equip a shield and are there any benefits/drawbacks if so.

No shields.
A defenite chance to try out 2 handed blades.

Sorry dude, no shields... There should be one though, I think. I'd give my left testicle to be on the Gothic II development team.

There are shields in the game but only one creature class has them, and you cant take them like you can with weapons when you kill them. Bah.

I doubt there's a shield you can use in the game. Mayne he was playing a mod. |

your sword acts like a shield
you can block with it but other than that, nope |

There is no shields at all.
Not for Warriors, Rangers or Mages.
And not for Old Camp, Sect Camp or New Camp.
Not even with cheatcodes.
