Ah, you've met one of the Undead, or a Daedra then?
Some creatures, like Ancestral Ghosts, Scamps and Ogrims are not affected by normal weapons. What you need is either a magical weapon or a weapon crafted from Silver or better. At the lower levels a Silver Longsword is probably your best bet - go search the shops in Balmora, and take an armourer's hammer with you... _________________ Charlie Dobbie

I've got the silver longsword but it does so little damage. I think I need to find a better weapon. _________________ "Whow, the necromancer is here" -Bartacus to myself |

Where did you buy the weapon from? |
|
Did you buy it from the Balmoran Pawnbroker? Time to get that hammer...
She sells a very cheap Silver Longsword, because the weapon is in a terrible condition - that may be why it's doing so little damage. Use a hammer or two to fix it up, or take it to an armourer who can repair it for you. _________________ Charlie Dobbie

A trader in balmora Rah'Vir i think sell a sword called Fiend longsord, it binds a daedric longsword for 60 secounds i think. Can't afford it? well then I suggest killing rah'vir, droping all your stolen stuf in his trade house, talk to a guar pay of bounty. Then go back to Rah'vir's trading place get the bound sword and you stuff and whtever else strikes your fancy And if your looking for a house, another problem solved |

Not a problem! Having your primary weapon as a minor skill is fine - it'll give your other skills more of a chance to increase at the same rate as your weapon skills. Your primary weapon skill will usually increase at an obscene rate anyway - this just calms it down a bit.
Anyway, there are some very cool axes in this game - after you get Long Blade up to an obscene amount you'll want a second weapon skill to fall back on. For me it was Blunt, for you it'll be Axe. Also, I believe the two-handed Daedric Axe is one of the highest maximum damage dealers of the unenchanted weapons.
Don't worry about it - it gives you good character progression for the latter parts of the game. _________________ Charlie Dobbie

The daedric battleaxe is awesome indeed, cant say i've come across any unenchanted weapon that does more damage (1-80). Weighs a lot though (90). _________________
