Give it a few more hours and you´ll change your opinion ...

This depends on which 3 bandits you´re talking about.

Humans are very dangerous opponents in the first half of the game. Generally speaking you should avoid fighting them if possible.

The fight in the very beginning is very hard if you don´t talk the bandit at the stairs our of leading you into the trap. But if you do so you only have to fight 2 bandits. This is possible with oen or two preparatory firebolt(s) followed by some slashing. Don´t hesitate to use the stuff you find.

The 3 sheep thieves can be killed because you should have an armour and a decent sword by then. It could also be possible to ask the guard at the city gate for help. He wants 10 gold pieces - which is for sure a worthy investment. Without good equipment killing the thugs can take several tries, though.

This follows later. When you reach the intermediate sword skill level you can combine the 3 active moves to combos. This is a matter of timing, not a click fest. The classic Gothic controls are required. I don´t remember how this works with the additional combat controls.

Just give it a try. Even if you attack him with a sword he should fall to the ground unconcious, so that you could do a finishing move, because he is not 'evil'. Combining this with the 'forget' scroll from the alchemist in the harbor district sounds like a good idea. Save before, of course.

Gothic is pretty realistic when it comes to fighting. You arent going to be able to efficiently go toe-to-toe with 3 skilled fighters when you havent even had basic training at the militia yet!

The only ways you can kill people at the beginning of the game without training is either attack them with a bow from an cliff top where they cant get you, or use magic scrolls to attack them or change yourself into something that can kill them easily.

Using those methos I have managed to wipe out pretty much everything in the entire map (excluding most undead, they are bastards), without joining any faction. (I did become a blacksmith apprentice though so I could earn some MAJOR cash).

Well there may be enough skill points in the game to train both, but I wouldnt realy recommend it. I didnt train my bow at all.

The reason I used the bow was because it kept me out of harms way. I was missing most of the time but I was pretty patient. With the huge income form my sword making it was not a proble to just buy hundreds of arrows and waste a few.

It realy depends on your style of play. I am very patient so I tend to use the most elaborate tactics so I dont have to waste skill points on skills I dont want or need.

The most efficient means of killing by far is the transformation scrolls. The two best are ShadowBeast and Warg. I killed many many creatures and levelled multiple times with each spell.

Arrows are cheap, skill points are not. Don't waste them on bow or crossbow.

Anyone can use scrolls. As long as you have enough mana. Mana requirements are very low for Scrolls though.

remember you can run away.. ..heal...and come back for some more..I remember running into a cave of black Gobbies and getting creamed...yet if I ran in whacked a few of them and then ran away..healed and returned..i was able to wear them down..nothing wrong with this tactic...since there is no shortcut for potions
Of course it's one hit..one kill with them now

Crossbow was the best weapon in the game except on skeletal undead. Exluding magic that is.

If you are talking about the thre bandits from the begining it's very simple:
Talk to the bandit from the entrance and tell him that you are a former convict from the colony and he will leave you alone, and thoes two from the cave one you should kill with a fireball and the last one use your weapon.
Good luck!!!!!

that wasnt the bandits i was talking about the one at the stairs i managed to kill him with a branch lolll the other 2 i waited till i got the leather armor and the sword xxx tooth hehe

im starting to get the hang of it now i almost manage to beat 2 bandits at the same time( the one and the caves when u exit by the east below the road that leads to the lighthouse ,, i could almost kill them both then when i retried and shot the firearrow only one came out hehehe the other one was walking further in the cave so i got lucky lolll
i trained a bit in strengh ans one handed weapon and ill try soon to get the lighthouse back ( damn archers grrrr ) lollll

the only thing im still not sure is about blobking.... do i have to time it exactly or if i just hold the block key ill parry when i get hit?
cuz right now im clicking like crazy to be sure to block lollllllllllllllllllllll

You have to time the block, just like you do a swing or combo. To parry make the block then quickly strike. Don't get in a hurry or panic. Watch your opponent and get into the rhythm of the fight. You might block when you think he is about to strike, and he backs off for second....DO NOT try to strike then. Drop your block and wait. When he tries to strike, block then parry. Only parry one strike on a tough opponent like an orc(ie. block, strike, wait...unless you hit them really hard and they pause). But on a lesser opponent make the block and follow with a nice combo...then back off, rinse and repeat.

BTW, orcs will often strike with a combo, but I will let you figure that one out
