You see, folks its more complicated than we think.
PB is going to go the star wars path and release the second sequel before the first one!
THen we will all be hungry to play the prequel to the second sequel, which will be the sequel to the second prequel that has a second sequel on the preview page.

To make things even more complicated: Gamestar.de asked PBīs Tom Putzki about the screenshots. He said they are from an extremely early program version.
Now what does 'early' mean, an early version which is more advanced now or an up to date version which is in an early stage of development? |

Perhaps these are screens from a later Gothic area that was thrown out. |

i doubt it, its pretty official that they said it was screenies from gothic 2, plus thats alot of stuff to work on, and then to just cut it out. does look like gothic graphics tho. but nah, id say thats early gothic 2 development right their buddy. |

I really hope that some more work was done on the engine. While it wasn't too bad, one has to admit that it could have used a bit more eye-candy. Better shadowing would have been nice, especially for night-day transitions. As it was, there wasn't actually any terrain shadowing in the entire game. It would be nice if the sun actually -did- something other than change the ambient light values.
It would also be -most- welcome if the interface could be redesigned with a mouse in mind. I heard that originially Gothic was designed to be played entirely with a keyboard, with no mouse support at all. The end result was that the only real purpose of the mouse was for looking around.
Don't get me wrong here. . . My complaints are many, but I -really- enjoyed Gothic. It is because I enjoyed Gothic that I wish for a great many improvements. . . |
